Privacy policy
Landowner Guide is a reading site. It has no accounts, no forms and no comments.
What this site collects
- No forms or accounts. The site never asks for your name, email, phone number or any details about your land.
- Analytics cookies only. The site itself sets no cookies; Google Analytics does (details below).
- No ads. The site shows no advertising and doesn't sell or share visitor data.
- Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes basic request data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and block attacks. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Google Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which guides are read, so it can tell what's useful and what needs work. When you load a page, Google Analytics records things like:
- the pages you view, how long you stay and what you click on the page;
- how you arrived (for example a search engine or another site);
- your device type, browser and screen size;
- your approximate location (country, region or city), which Google works out from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 doesn't log or store IP addresses.
To tell visits apart, Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_*, which last up to two years by default (see Google's cookie list). The reports show totals and trends; they don't tell this site who you are.
Google processes this data under its own policies: seehow Google uses information from sites that use its services. To opt out, block cookies for this site in your browser, use a tracker blocker, or installGoogle's Analytics opt-out add-on.
Links to other sites
Guides link to government sources, Reddit posts and other sites. Those sites have their own privacy practices. The state land-seller sites run by the same person do collect contact details when a landowner asks for an offer, and each has its own privacy policy that explains how those details are used.
